Chesapeake Canal Company tugboat, the CSS Junaluska was armed with a
6-pdr gun when she participated in the 1 October 1861 capture of the USS
Fanny. Most of her service was spent transporting troops and materials in
the sounds around Roanoke Island, NC. Records show her as being dismantled in
1862. |
